Anvil Attachments, a Slaughter, Louisiana manufacturer of buckets and grapples has been recognized by International Bulk Journal (IBJ), winning the “Best Grab” category in the publication’s 2012 awards. Five Finalists were selected by an independent judging panel from more than 100 individual category entries, 28 different countries, and all five continents. The companies that made the shortlist were, Credeblug of Spain, Guven Machine and Grab, Turkey, SMAG (Peiner) , Germany, Verstegen, Netherlands and Anvil Attachments.
Anvil’s team headed to Hamburg, Germany for the IBJ Awards presentation on November 19th, 2012. Anvil Attachments took home the “Best Grab” award, the winner was chosen on the following criteria, “The judges will select a winner who consistently meets customer requirements for operationally efficient, cost-effective grabs. Aware that grabs should ideally be adapted to each bulk commodity, judges will look for the use of quality material in manufacture and innovative design in minimizing environmental damage.”
Anvil’s president, Jon Craft stated, “Over the past few years we have implemented new processes in our manufacturing to reduce cost and improve quality. Lean Manufacturing is now standard in our manufacturing process, which has allowed us to drastically reduce cost.” Jon also installed Finite Element Analysis software in the engineering department and details that “the FEA software allows us to reduce the weight of a unit, while showing us any weak areas in design, this way we can perfect the design, before the first piece of steel is cut.”
Anvil Attachments is one of the oldest suppliers of Grabs, Grapples, and Clamshell Buckets for Bulk Material Handling. Anvil has been supplying products under various brand names since 1905.
