Rototilt and Trimble recently announced that excavator operators can now achieve accurate guidance when using a tiltrotator attachment with the Rototilt® Positioning Solution and the Trimble® GCS900 Grade Control System.
“We have completed successful tests together with Trimble and are now able to connect the Rototilt® Positioning Solution with the Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System,” informs Per Väppling, VP Marketing and Sales, Rototilt Group AB “This allows the operator to integrate the Rototilt® tiltrotator with his Trimble grade control system to achieve significantly better precision and productivity.”
Using the Rototilt® Positioning Solution (RPS) together with the Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System, operators know the attachment’s precise position relative to the excavation in progress. This innovative new technology allows the operator to plot both the height and rotation line, which makes the attachment more effective in construction jobs such as precision grading, excavation in confined areas or moving large volumes of earth.
“Our heavy equipment customers have been seeking a solution that allows excavator operators to increase productivity when using tiltrotator attachments, and many systems have already been purchased in Denmark and Norway,” said Ryan Kunisch, marketing director for Trimble Civil Engineering and Construction. “We have worked with Rototilt to optimize the grade control system’s performance to increase a contractor’s productivity.”
Full control of the attachment’s tilt and rotation angles by the Rototilt Positioning Solution combined with precise positioning from Trimble mean time and fuel savings for contractors. This new technology also makes work significantly easier for the operator, by making bucket position and orientation always visible no matter how the bucket is rotated. As a result, the operator is able to work significantly more efficiently and accurately with RPS connected to the Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System.

Tiltrotator – Rototilt® model R4, R6, R8 (or Advance Line); ICS control system with auto calibration and/or SecureLock™.
