ShearCore, Superior, Wisconsin, has broadened its line of mobile shears with the introduction of the Fortress F55 model.
The introduction of the F55 follows those of the F75 and F85 models, which the company says were “very well received since their launch in the first quarter” of 2015.
The F55 S (straight) is designed to match up with a 50,000-pound class excavators or material handlers and the F55 R (rotator) fits on the 60,000-pound class. “Its compact and powerful design features a 15-inch cylinder and a 30-inch jaw,” says the company, adding, “With all the right steel in all the right places, it weighs in at 13,900 pounds.”
The F55, like the previous Fortress models, features:
- an extra-large main shaft designed for longer life, better cutting capability and elimination of an auto-guide or puck;
- a patent-pending tip boot designed for improved wear coverage;
- WearGuard for reduced maintenance on parent material adjacent to the blades;
- Weldox steel construction using 6-inch plate steel in the jaw to eliminate the need for lamination;
- customized jaw geometry designed to offer increased power;
- large removable access panels for ease of maintenance;
- a fully protected rod; and
- designed and built by a team with decades of mobile shear experience.
